Although it isn't much to look at, the breakfast here was delicious. When all the other breakfast places were an hour wait, we got right into here with no problems...I'm guessing largely due to not being in plain sight from the road.

I was talking to a lady in a different shop who suggested that I try this restaurant, specifically the peppered chicken, so I walked over and decided to give it a go! I had some trouble finding the place at first. The entrance isn't particularly denoted. In fact, I began walking up some stairs to what was a spa when a burly Latin man stopped me and directed me back to the snack shop. I thanked him and excitedly scampered into the snack shop. The lady behind the counter was clearly inundated with orders, but still very sweet and pleasant. I ordered the peppered chicken and went and sat down. The man cooking the food was the one who called my name for the order, I went and got it but forgot my salad dressing. The busy lady came back and realized I had taken my food, "Do you want some salad dressing, Patrick?" It's a small thing, but I liked that she used my name and that she remembered it. It made me feel warm and bubbly. Now for the food. The food was absolutely delicious. Salad, Rice, and Peppered Chicken. The rice and salad were standard fare, fresh and yummy. The peppered chicken was fantastic. Fried chicken with this... teriyaki-ish but spicier type of sauce. Not too overly spiced, but just right. Lots of meat. I absolutely devoured that plate of food. That lady behind the counter at that other store was spot on with her recommendation.

Was ‘Ono! The other places I wanted to check out was closed so decided to stop here for a plate lunch. Did not know they was known for their chili pepper chicken. I got the 1/2 plate and was fast and ‘Ono! It was a good deal for 8.50! I didn’t know how it would be (I have low tolerance to spice) so I paid 0.35 for sauce on side. It wasn’t that spicy! Next time I’ll try it together.

Village Snack Shop & Bakery is a hidden gem with the best prices on the island! We’re still dreaming about their cheesy pastries—they were perfectly warm, flaky, and packed with flavor. Their donut-like pastries were a hit with the whole family, disappearing almost as soon as they hit the table. Every bite was pure delight! The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Whether you're craving something savory or sweet, this spot has something for everyone, and it won’t break the bank. Our overall experience was fantastic, and this bakery is definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious treats at unbeatable prices. We can’t wait to come back!

You know it's good when an EMT who frequents here happily endorsed the food! We got the Chilipepper Fried Chicken. So tender and juicy and sweet and spicy, much better than another place we tried with the same dish! The lady who works here was also very kind and a joy to speak with.

I came here yesterday to have lunch, I ate a simple, delicious hamburger. Today I went back to lunch and chose a single Loco Moco, delicious!!! and the women who is there is very very kindly. Cakes looks delicious too!!!

Perfect for breakfast and the best loco moco. Delicious. All the locals go here so you know it is the best.

We loved the chili pepper chicken so much we ordered it twice during our stay. I preferred the garden salad side to the mac/potato salad. This restaurant closes early FYI. The bakery items were very reasonably priced too. I look forward to trying them next trip!
